The Wedeme are the Wild Ones.Dagola Stick Divination is the medicine of The Wedeme.
As a newly initiated diviner in the lineage of the Dagara people of Burkina Faso and Ghana, West Africa, I am deeply honored to bring this Earth Medicine of Dagola Stick Divination to the communal village.
Dagola Stick Divination is the medicine of The Wedeme.
The Wedeme are the Wild Ones. They are elemental beings of the land. They tend to Nature and to life. Wedeme can help us remember who we are and why we have come here to this earth.
Stick divinations can help us come into a healthy balance with all of life by bringing through wisdom, insight and ritual practices. Rituals are usually nature based and are a means by which we humans can call on Spirit to open the way for energy to flow in clean clear channels.
Who is this for?Dagola Stick Divinations are being offered specifically to pour medicine forward into the lands, the waters, and the lineages and hearts of the human village. Anyone who is seeking connection with Spirit as a form of guidance in their lives can benefit from receiving a div.
How is a stick divination given?
Stick Divination is an Earth based technology. It can be received in person or via zoom.
❋ From AnywhereThe person receiving the divination is invited to speak their questions for The Wedeme into a quarter or a similar form of currency. The quarter, or coin, signifies a form of ‘payment’ to the beings who will be attending the divination, and speaking into the quarter, or coin, activates the channel opening the door for spirit to begin to bridge the spiritual, ancestral and physical realms.
Holding the quarter and speaking out loud to the Wedeme letting them know what questions or challenges the recipient of the divination would like help with in their lives will serve.
If the quarter is activated prior to the session the person receiving the divination may choose to place the quarter under their pillow or next to their bed and then pay special attention to dreams as well as any themes that surface over the coming days until the time of the divination. The Wedeme will begin to work with you as soon as you call upon them.
The quarter should be presented to the Wedeme at the time of the session. If you are receiving the session via zoom you will mail the quarter to the diviner after your session.
❋ With IntentionThe diviner will sit on the floor and lay out the various pieces of the medicine kit. Elemental beings, Ancestors and Guides will be called in and the Stick will speak through the medicine of the Wedeme.
The person receiving the divination can expect to receive wisdom, insight, and rituals which may be offered to open the way in the person's life and to guide their path forward.
❋ With IntentionHow did this West African Medicine make its way to the West? This practice was brought to the West by Elder and Ancestor Malidoma Some. You can learn more about Malidoma's life path and work here (https://malidoma.com/about/)
The Dagara lineage is a closed lineage. There is no teacher training or certification for stick divination. The beings call upon those they work with. In all nations and among all peoples there are those who carry the seed desires as well as the body mind spirit circuitry to connect across dimensions and realms.
The Dagara medicine lineage has survived for more than 20,000 years. What has been lost by so much of this modern world is what has been remembered by those who carry this medicine.
The invitation to initiate in this medicine lineage is extended by the spirits themselves and is confirmed through divination. A double blind confirmation process must be followed in order to eliminate human bias.
Elder/Ancestor Malidoma Some had this to say in an interview with Sun Magazine (https://www.thesunmagazine.org/articles/22686-between-two-worlds) about how people can get back to the root of remembering:
“It will have to start with the rediscovery of the rituals that were once the connecting rods between the living and the dead, between humans and the earth. It will require fine-tuning the ear to hear the subtle vibrations once more, enabling us to recognize when the sacred is around in order to show it greater respect. It will require a remembering of the practices that once kept the village and the tribe together. The only hope is that there are a few people who have held on to the traditions. It is these few — who have been pushed aside as having nothing to contribute — who might become teachers to those who are willing to journey back into the past in the interest of healing the future.”
